About
The Miss Oakland County Scholarship program began as Miss Farmington in 1974, then later named the Miss Farmington/Oakland County competition when it became open to all residents of Oakland County. It was then later named the Miss Oakland County Scholarship Program in 2003.
The Miss Oakland County Scholarship Program is a local affiliate of the Miss Michigan and Miss America. Together, with more than 5,000 other local programs across the nation, we comprise the largest scholarship organization for women in the world.
In 2006, our very own Kirsten Haglund was crowned Miss Oakland County, went on to become Miss Michigan the very next year, and became Miss America in 2008 .
Phases of Competition

Miss Oakland County, Miss Michigan, and Miss America strives to prepare their delegates for real world scenarios, including interviews. Questions may range from their community service initiative to current events. Interview will continue for 30 second opening, 9-minutes Q&A, optional 30 second wrap up or closing statement.
on stage conversation 10%
The On-Stage Conversation phase of competition is designed for the delegate to make an on-stage statement of her interests, opinions, and aspirations in answer to a question selected for her. One question will be asked, and the judge is to consider the answer to the question.
